The Epilepsy Coalition of New York State, Inc.

Statewide Epilepsy Conference

Saturday, October 28, 2023

9:00am – 12:30pm

After the success of last year’s inaugural conference, the Epilepsy Coalition of New York State (ECNYS) is hosting its second annual Statewide Epilepsy Conference. Experts from our Professional Advisory Boards and invited guest speakers will discuss epilepsy-related topics.

To make our 2023 Statewide Epilepsy Conference accessible to all, we are offering a webinar that can be viewed from home or at one of several “watch parties” located throughout New York State.  Two ECNYS member agencies, Epilepsy Alliance West Central NY and Epilepsy Foundation Long Island, are hosting in-person watch parties at their offices of the online seminar and will be available to provide resources to attendees.

Our target audience includes individuals and families affected by epilepsy, caregivers, school personnel, support professionals from human service agencies, healthcare personnel, or anyone in the community seeking epilepsy information and education. The 2023 Statewide Epilepsy Conference is free of charge for all attendees.

It is estimated that 215,000 people in New York state and 3.5 million in the United States are diagnosed with epilepsy. By offering a hybrid conference, we have the opportunity to positively impact New Yorkers, and people beyond our local region, who are living with epilepsy.

The agencies that comprise the Epilepsy Coalition of New York State: The Epilepsy Association of Western New York, EPI - Empowering People's Independence, The Epilepsy Society of Southern New York - CPI, and the three Epilepsy Foundation affiliates of Northeastern New York, Metropolitan New York, and Long Island, touch the lives of thousands of children, adults, and families affected by epilepsy.

The Epilepsy Coalition of New York State, Inc. has been organized for the purposes of promoting awareness of epilepsy and its consequences to public and private sectors in New York State; and improving the epilepsy service system throughout the state.
