Wanz's Walk
Sunday, September 22, 2019

Hey everyone, I’m Alice! I am a junior at Gates Chili High School. I play soccer and am also a magician. I was first diagnosed with epilepsy when I was 2 years old. This first diagnosis was for Absence Seizure, a type of epilepsy which triggers staring spells. When I was 7 years old, I received a second diagnoses of Juvenile Myoclonic Epilepsy (JME). This meant I could be prone to more aggressive seizures in the future. I kept this diagnosis until the age of 15, when I was re-diagnosed with absence epilepsy as I had outgrown JME. I have had no starring spells since I was 15 and I am almost cleared to get my driving permit! Epilepsy means a lot to me because it’s the first thing I did not like but then decided to embrace. I now want to raise awareness about epilepsy. Thank you for supporting me and Wanz’s Walk to benefit Epilepsy-Pralid, Inc.
