Coronavirus COVID-19

As we continue to monitor Coronavirus (COVID-19) developments closely, the health and well-being of the people in our care and of their families are of the utmost importance to us.

As the first infection cases have occurred in Monroe County, we know many of you are concerned about the spread of COVID-19 and how it may impact us here at Epilepsy-Pralid.

We are monitoring updates from the CDC, the Department of Health, and OPWDD.  We are following their guidelines and adhering to their mandates.  We believe these organizations are the best sources of information and guidance on how to mitigate the spread of the virus.

We want to provide you with information about how we are addressing this situation. Our intent is to inform and not alarm. Following are the measures we have adopted to ensure the health and safety of everyone at EPI:

  1. Visitor Screening.

As per OPWDD guidelines, we are asking all non-essential visitors to avoid coming to our facilities unless absolutely necessary. We are actively screening all individuals who enter our buildings and have posted signs on our entryway doors to notify visitors of these precautions.

  2. Hand hygiene, respiratory etiquette, and infection control.

We have shared and posted CDC recommendations on hand washing and personal hygiene. We are also following OPWDD Infection Control measures in cleaning and disinfecting our facilities.

  3. Social Distancing.

We reduced the number of staff members at our offices by allowing administrative personnel to work from home. We have canceled all recreational activities in public and        crowded spaces.

You may find OPWDD guidelines at opwdd.ny.gov/news_and_publications/coronavirus-guidance-opwdd-service-providers. You may also find useful resources atwww.monroecounty.gov/ and at www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html.

Finally, we encourage you to follow us on Facebook (@epilepsypralid), Twitter (@EPI_NY), and LinkedIn (Epilepsy-Pralid Inc.) for timely updates.
